Why is alcohol legal and marijuana isn’t?

How can it be that something as destructive and nasty as alcohol is legal and available nearly everywhere?
How can it be that an effective medicine like marijuana is illegal almost everywhere and governments all over the world still are on a witchhunt against this herb?

Let me tell you a little story. Two days ago i went to a buddy of mine to print out some stuff for university and the upcomming test. Turns out it was his sisters birthday this day so i ended up partying with them and getting massively drunk.

Now yesterday i woke up with easily the nastiest hangover in my entire life. I woke up at around 12 and i puked throughout the entire day. I couldn’t eat anything. I couldn’t even drink water, i immediately puked it out. I felt like i was gonna die or something, it just wouldn’t get better. After a while my tongue was swollen from the dehydration and my throat was sore from all the stomache acid. Just nasty!

I guess this is how a person must feel on a heroin withdrawal, you can’t sleep, you can’t be awake, everything hurts and you puke all the time.

Finally i could muster up the strength to crawl into my kitchen and roll a nice joint. I lay in my bed and after three(!) tokes of this heaven-sent gift all my pain just went away. All the sickness was gone, the nasty body-feeling and the vomitting disappeared and my intense wish to kill myself got replaced by a pleasant, warm feeling throughout the whole body. Immediately i made myself a big-ass sandwich and munched it into me. I could eat again! I felt so gratefull for this plant, really just three tokes turned my experience from being in hell to washing all my problems away.

In retrospect i feel very sorry for violating my body like this. I will never do this again!
I haven’t decided yet if i quit alcohol alltogether or if i just limit it bigtime. But one thing is sure, i will never drink more than 2-3 beers at a party anymore.

This really got me questioning, how can this be that this nasty alcohol is legal and everyone uses it? And weed is illegal?

I can’t find an answer, really…

I have been a weedsmoker for a long time and i simply got used to the hypocricy revolving around my beloved herb. But lately i’m getting really pissed with the current situation. I feel very angry and at the same time like i can’t do anything about it.

Then today i watched this interview with Marc Emery and he said an inspiriational thing. He says in his mind marijuana is already legal and he treats it accordingly.

This blew my mind! If everyone adopted this attitude, cannabis would be legal immediately or the officials would have to lock away half of the world population!
All my life i have been hiding my love for cannabis out of fear. But i will not do this anymore. Maybe i cannot do anything on a bigger level, but i surely can talk some sense into the people i meet everyday and who still buy into government propaganda.

From now on will do exactly this and I hope you all do too!
It’s about time this madness gets to an end!

Oh man……..I love ya so…………………..!!
You are very outspoken, but in such a wonderful way………..we need more like you!

As a recovering alcoholic, after 30 yrs of drinking in moderation with my employers, I’ve now been forced into early retirement and lost my best-friend/hubby around 22 months ago. And all from alcohol !
Never drunk or bingeing, just staying in with the whose-who’s kinda thing !!!
In the meantime, my late Aunt, suffering health wise terribly just from old age,
she was given a prescription of Marjuanna, and told us herself, that it helped the pain tremendously………………..!
So, I can’t unfortunately, answer your question, except to say, that I personally think, here in Canada anyways, our Gov’t Leaders, have racked in the money from liquor sales, and in no way do they want to lose out, by legalizing Magamahootchi………!
Gee, that would be just a shame now wouldn’t it ?
Cause if it had been legalized, well, my wonderful spouse would still be here, now wouldn’t he !?!

thank you, this means a lot to me!

i find it hard to believe how brainwashed people are, even ppl who smoke weed themselves. Yesterday i talked to a friend about legalization and he said “yeah they got good reasons why its illegal, noone would go to work blabla”. Mind you this guy smokes weed himself and is against legalization. I mean wtf??

When i countered his arguments with logic he eventually agreed with me. I think that’s the main problem, that people do not think for themselves. They just take arguments that some authority figure presents to them without ever reflecting it.

I will not quit to talk some sense into ppl, even it it means alienating my whole social circle
