New portable PLENTY Vaporizer from Storz & Bickel out!
I received an email from Storz & Bickel today informing me about the release of their new Vaporizer the PLENTY.

A hand-held vaporizer from my favourite manufacturer, im really excited about this one. I have tried other portable vaporizers and wasn’t too happy with them. But considering what a great job the guys from Storz & Bickel did with the Volcano this one could blow the competition out of the water. I can’t wait to get my hands on one and give it a try.
The PLENTY Vaporizer is a powerful and robust hand-held device.
The heat exchanger is equipped with a double helix to ensure efficient air heating and high-yield vaporization. The highly efficient cooling coil ensures a pleasant aromatic experience.
Vaporization temperatures may be selected from approx. 130°C to 202°C (266°F to 395°F).Delivery includes:
1 pc. PLENTY hot air generator, 1 pc. vaporization unit, 3 pcs. normal screens, 1 pc. liquid pad, 1 pc. mouthpiece, 1 pc. tubing section (short), 1 pc. tubing section (long), 1 pc. cleaning brush, 1 pc. herb mill and 1 pc. instructions for use.

How to clean the Volcano Vaporizer
If you own an expensive, high-tech device like the Volcano Vaporizer then you should do your best to take good care of it! Check out this great video which shows in detail how to take apart the Volcano Vaporizer and how to get all the parts as good as new.
I heard some people scrape of the resin from the Volcano parts and vaporize them again. This reminds me of my bong-smoking days where in the most desperate times we would smoke the scraped out crap from the bong. Yuck!
Since i have left these days behind me I refuse to try out this recycling technique. Adventurous readers feel free to try it though and give me a report!
Tips and tricks for using the Volcano Vaporizer
Here are some tips for you to improve your enjoyment of the Volcano Vaporizer. Enjoy!
- Grind your herbs as finely as possible. The finer you grind your herbs the more effective becomes the vaporiazation method because you increase the surface. The Volcano comes with a grinder which is very good for this. You can also get an electric coffee grinder like Snoop Dogg uses in the Up in Smoke DVD 
- Always let the Volcano heat up for a few minutes before using it!
- You can vaporize the same herbs several times. Don’t overdo it though. When the stuff changes colour and loses smell its time to throw it away 
- When you have sensitive lungs and a Volcano hit makes you cough try lower settings. You don’t have to use the Volcano at the highest setting!
- To make the Volcano experience even more enjoyable, hook the Volcano up with a bong to cool the vapor. Check this post to see how to use the Volcano Vaporizer with a bong!

I came across this documentary yesterday and you HAVE To check it out. It’s called The Union - The business behind getting high and it shows how the pot industry in British Columbia has become a multi-billion industry!

It’s absolutley mindblowing, you have to check this one out.
The movie also shows the history of marijuana and why this plant has become illegal in the first place. Basically it takes one argument against legalization after another and blows them all to pieces by showing cold, hard facts.

I came across this US congressional report on medical marijuana, this is very interesting!
The report explains the current law situation in the USA and reviews and compares the different state laws on medical marijuana. It also analyses the public opinion on medical marijuana and common arguments for and against the use of marijuana as medicine. Why is alcohol legal and marijuana isn’t?
How can it be that something as destructive and nasty as alcohol is legal and available nearly everywhere?
How can it be that an effective medicine like marijuana is illegal almost everywhere and governments all over the world still are on a witchhunt against this herb?
Let me tell you a little story. Two days ago i went to a buddy of mine to print out some stuff for university and the upcomming test. Turns out it was his sisters birthday this day so i ended up partying with them and getting massively drunk.
Now yesterday i woke up with easily the nastiest hangover in my entire life. I woke up at around 12 and i puked throughout the entire day. I couldn’t eat anything. I couldn’t even drink water, i immediately puked it out. I felt like i was gonna die or something, it just wouldn’t get better. After a while my tongue was swollen from the dehydration and my throat was sore from all the stomache acid. Just nasty!
I guess this is how a person must feel on a heroin withdrawal, you can’t sleep, you can’t be awake, everything hurts and you puke all the time.
Finally i could muster up the strength to crawl into my kitchen and roll a nice joint. I lay in my bed and after three(!) tokes of this heaven-sent gift all my pain just went away. All the sickness was gone, the nasty body-feeling and the vomitting disappeared and my intense wish to kill myself got replaced by a pleasant, warm feeling throughout the whole body. Immediately i made myself a big-ass sandwich and munched it into me. I could eat again! I felt so gratefull for this plant, really just three tokes turned my experience from being in hell to washing all my problems away.
In retrospect i feel very sorry for violating my body like this. I will never do this again!
I haven’t decided yet if i quit alcohol alltogether or if i just limit it bigtime. But one thing is sure, i will never drink more than 2-3 beers at a party anymore.
This really got me questioning, how can this be that this nasty alcohol is legal and everyone uses it? And weed is illegal?
I can’t find an answer, really…
I have been a weedsmoker for a long time and i simply got used to the hypocricy revolving around my beloved herb. But lately i’m getting really pissed with the current situation. I feel very angry and at the same time like i can’t do anything about it.
Then today i watched this interview with Marc Emery and he said an inspiriational thing. He says in his mind marijuana is already legal and he treats it accordingly.
This blew my mind! If everyone adopted this attitude, cannabis would be legal immediately or the officials would have to lock away half of the world population!
All my life i have been hiding my love for cannabis out of fear. But i will not do this anymore. Maybe i cannot do anything on a bigger level, but i surely can talk some sense into the people i meet everyday and who still buy into government propaganda.
From now on will do exactly this and I hope you all do too!
It’s about time this madness gets to an end!
List of herbs to vaporize with effects
I have put together a small list of herbs that can be vaporized and show an effect. Most of these plants are ingredients in legal-smoke products and are much cheaper when you buy them individually. Catnip (Nepeta cataria)
Vaporization Temperature low
Catnip shows a recognizable, cannabis-like effect when vaporized. It gives a mild buzz that isn’t just placebo.
Damiana (Turnera Diffusa)
Vaporization Temperature: 150C to 175C (302F to 347F)
Damiana is known to strengthen the nervous system and cure depression. In Mexico women commonly use it as an aphrodisiac before sex. Damiana clearly shows some effects when smoked, if you are used to smoking cannabis regularly you will consider them very mild though.
Passion Flower (Passiflora)
Vaporization Temperature: 100C to 150C (212F to 302F)
Passion Flower is known for its slight sedative effects and is also used as a treatment in opium withdrawal. When vaporized, it’s pleasant but mild in taste and effect.
Salvia Divinorum
Vaporization Temperature ~230°C (~446°F)
Salvia Divinorum is a powerfull psychedelic which alters conciousness when vaporized. Salvia experiences canrange in intensity from subtle to extremely powerful.

Salvia Divinorum is a very powerfull drug, especially when vaporized.
Also it is illegal in some countries, so make sure to check the legal status before you use it.
St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum)
Vaporization Temperature: (100C to 150C) 212F to 302F
St. John’s Wort is known to have mild anti-depressant effects. It’s also available in tablets and extracts.
Wild Lettuce (Lactuca serriola)
Vaporization Temperature: 100°C-125°C (212°F - 257°F)
When vaporized Wild Lettuce has a dreamy, sedative effect. Some people compare it to opium, of course much milder. It can relieve colic and rheumatic pains, also some Indian tribes use it to increase the vividness of dreams.

Volcano Vaporizer in aroma therapy
In this weeks article i want to talk about the use of the Volcano Vaporizer in aroma therapy for a bit. While im typing up this article i can already see the huge question mark in the faces of most readers. “WTF is aroma therapy?”. I was wondering the same since i saw this term popping up in association with the Volcano Vaporizer all the time but had no clue what its all about.
Aroma therapy is the practice of using essential oils for improving psychological and physical health. Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts from leaves, stems, roots, bark, or other parts of various plants. These potent extracts are shown to have anti-bacterial, anti-septic and various other medicinal advantages.
There are tons of ways to use essential oil for personal well-being, such as adding it to bath-water, using it as masage-oil additive, natural bug-repellent or inhaling it. And this is where the Volcano Vaporizer comes into play!
The Volcano isnt limited to a variety of herbs but it can also vaporize essential oils too. In fact it is much more effective than other means of inhalation that are common in aroma therapy, such as steam inhalation or oil burners. Due to the nature of the vaporization method you need to use less material and have more control over the vaporization temperature applied to it.
If you plan to use the Volcano Vaporizer for aroma therapy though, make sure to use only essential oils that have been certified for aroma therapy and that are 100% pure. Apparently some manufacturers use chemicals in their essential oils which can be potentially dangerous if inhaled. So make sure you buy the good stuff!
Personally i find this field fascinating and im planning to buy some essential oils myself in the future to get a first-hand experience of inhaling these oils.
Netherlands for Nobel peace prize
I just got word that the pro-cannabis organisation NORML has proposed the Netherlands for Nobel peace prize.
They do this to raise awareness to the progressive Netherlands drug politics and the futility of the world wide War on Drugs. I think this is a great thing and want to support this!
